WILLY ANTI-GASPI, PIONEER IN E-COMMERCE FIGHTING WASTE, CLOSES NEW €2.3 MILLION FUNDRAISING ROUND

Willy anti-gaspi, pioneer in e-commerce dedicated to the fight against waste, announces the closing of a new fundraising round of 2.3 million euros.

In June 2023, the two founders, Clément Méry and Jonathan Negrin, raised one million euros from business angels, the impact fund Good Only Ventures, the ethical bank La Nef, and Bpifrance.

For this second round of fundraising, the two co-founders chose to focus solely on business angels and family offices. Among them are Sarah Chouraqui, former Managing Director of Too Good To Go France; Frédéric Trinel, founder of Écovadis; Céline Rémy, founder of Neoness; Frédéric Leblan, former VP of Finance at Danone; Alexis Agahi, founder of DiliTrust; Grégory Zussa, former CTO of Le Drive Tout Nu; and Jérôme Boudot, founder of Tripnity.

Willy anti-gaspi buys overstock or short-dated items, which it resells at reduced prices on its website (25 to 50% cheaper compared to the market). This model offers consumers a solution in the face of inflation and declining purchasing power. Additionally, ordering from Willy anti-gaspi means choosing to consume organic and Made in France products at low prices. The success is such that every month, the company processes more than 2,000 orders.

Currently experiencing rapid growth, the company has expanded from 2 to 19 employees and has attracted more than 18,000 customers across France. The two founders are going to take things to the next level with this 2.3 million euros.
The success of Willy anti-gaspi is based on a strong value proposition: offering customers the opportunity to consume better while contributing to the fight against waste. ‘Customers come to save money and return or talk about us because they feel like they are consuming better and actually helping to fight waste. The impact is huge, with more than 300,000 products saved from the trash since the launch,’ explains Clément, co-founder of Willy anti-gaspi.
